An Chéad Chomaoineach:  Rinne 51 páiste i Rang 2 a gCéad Chomaoineach ar an 18 Bealtaine. Bhí siad an-ullmhaithe don lá ag Múinteoir Edel agus Múinteoir Deirdre. Rinne Múinteoir Azora agus Ibhonn trí thaipéis bhalla gleoite don ocáid agus bhí Múinteoir Ailín, an cór agus na ceoltóirí an-mhaith. Bhí féasta deas blasta ullamh ag Le Chéile agus grúpa tuismitheoirí sa scoil. Lá iontach ar fad a bhí ann. Bronntanas ó Glaxo Smith Kline: Bhronn GSK €530 ar an scoil mar thoradh ar iarratas ó Mhichelle Darlington, Aintín le páistí sa scoil. Táimid fíorbhuíoch díobh. Tom O Mahony: Tá Tom O Mahony ag bogadh ó Chlub na dTráchtalaithe go dtí Faughs mar sin tá sé ag éirí as  múineadh na h-iománaíochta anseo. Táimid buíoch do as a chuid oibre ar fad agus guímid gach rath air ina phost nua.

Féile Ealaíon na bPáistí: Bhronn Martin Moran agus Alt Entertainments, a mhúineann ceol anseo tar éis scoile, mórán ceardlanna saor in aisce orainn i Mí na Bealtaine: amhránaíocht sean-nós, damhsa, drumaí, ceol tradisiúnta, ealaín, filíocht, scríbhneoireacht chruthaitheach,  podchraoladh etc. Bhí seachtain iontach ag na páistí. Mile buíochas le Martin agus a chairde.

Seantreabh: Thug Múinteoir Fionnghuala agus Máistir Colm daltaí chuig an lúthchleasaíocht i Seantreabh. Bhaineadar an-taitneamh as.

Gairdín na Scoile: Míle buíochas le Trish Uí Eadhra agus Niamh Pouch a chuir na glasraí agus bláthanna sa pháirc in éineacht le Múinteoir Eilís agus Rang 3. D’fhéach an cabáiste an-mhaith ar fad i mbliana.                                            

Aistear: Tá Cúrsa ‘Aistrithe idir an Naíonra agus an Gaelscoil’ déanta ag Múinteoir Nóirín le déanaí. Is córas foghlama tríd an tsúgradh atá i gceist leis agus cabhraíonn sé go mór le forbairt na scileanna sóisialta agus na scileanna teanga. Chuir Múinteoir Nóirín agus Múinteoir Vanessa an córas i bhfeidhm sna Ranganna Naíonán i mbliana agus d’éirigh go hiontach leis.

Duais na Gaeilge: Is iad Rang 4 a bhuaigh duais na Gaeilge agus chuadar ar thuras saor in aisce, ar bhus oscaillte, go dtí an chathair. Bhaineadar taitneamh as turas a thabhairt ar an Ospidéal Ríoga agus ar Bheairic Uí Choileáin. Comhgháirdeas leo agus Múinteoir Nora.

Ceiliúradh Rang 6: Bhí slua mór i láthair ag bronnadh Rang 6 Dé Céadaoin 26ú Meitheamh 2013. Sheinn Múinteoir Rob O Connor an fhliúit agus sheinn Rang 6 na bodhráin in éineacht leis. B’iontach an dul chun cinn a rinne siad i rith na bliana a fheiscint.  Chuir Le Chéile soláistí ar fáil don slua. Rinne Deirdre Maher agus Deborah Strumble an-obair ar an gcur i láthair agus ar an mBliainiris. Gabhadh buíochas ó chroí le Múinteoir Róisín as a cuid oibre ag múineadh Rang 6. Ghuigh Múinteoir Róisín agus Príomhoide Siobhán gach rath ar na páistí sa mheánscoil.
Ar an 27ú Meitheamh rinne Alan Holbrook barbeque do Rang 6 agus bhí an bia go hálainn. Míle buíochas le gach aon duine a chabhraigh in aon slí.

Féinmheastóireacht Scoile: Míle buíochas le Múinteoir Róisín a bhí i gceannas ar an suirbhé Mata agus a rinne sár-obair ar an anailís. Fuaireamar 189 ceistneoir ar ais ó thuismitheoirí na scoile. Táimid fíor bhuíoch do seo agus an-sásta leis an líon mór freagraí a fuaireamar. Tá anailís curtha abhaile chugaibh.

Beidh an scoil ag athoscailt ar an 29 Lúnasa 2013.

Siobhán Mhic Gearailt

First Holy Communion: 51 children from Rang 2 made their First Holy Communion on the 18th of May. They were well prepared for the day by Múinteoir Edel and Múinteoir Deirdre. Múinteoir Azora, Ibhonn and Marian created 3 beautiful wall hangings for the church. Múinteoir Ailín, the choir and the musicians added greatly to the occasion. Le Chéile and a group of parents organised a wonderful party in the school. It was a great day. Congratulations to everyone who was involved.

Donation from Glaxo Smith Kline: GSK donated €530 to the school, as a result of the request from Michelle Darlington Allen, who is an aunt to children in this school. We are very grateful to them. Múinteoir Éilís is going to buy badminton rackets and nets for the pupils with the money and we all look forward to seeing the children play with them next year.

Tom O Mahony: Tom O Mahony is moving from Commercials GAA Club to Faughs GAA Club and so will no longer be teaching hurling here. We are very thankful for all his hard work and wish him well with his new job.

AltEnts Children’s Art Festival: Martin Moran and Alt Entertainments, who teach music here after school, provided a lot of free workshops and concerts to us from the 10th -14th May: sean-nós singing, dancing, traditional music, art, poetry, creative writing, podcasts etc. The children had a wonderful time. creative writing, podcasts etc. The children had a wonderful time.

Santry: Múinteoir Fionnghuala and Máistir Colm brought pupils to compete in the Cumann na mBunscol Athletics competitions in Santry. They enjoyed it very much.

School Garden: Thanks to Le Chéile Committee, especially Trish O Hara and Niamh Pouch, who worked tirelessly with Múinteoir Eilís and Rang 3 on the school vegetable patch. The cabbage looked very impressive this year.

Aistear: Múinteoir Nóirín has recently completed the ‘Aistrithe idir an Naíonra agus an Gaelscoil’ course. This programme involves learning through play and greatly helps the development of social skills and language skills and eases transition from Naíonra to school. Múinteoir Nóirín and Múinteoir Vanessa have used Aistear very successfully with the Naíonáin this year.

Duais na Gaeilge: Rang a 4 were the winners of ‘Duais na Gaeilge.’ Congratulations to them and to Múinteoir Nóra. As their prize, they went on a free trip on an open-top bus to the city centre. The enjoyed the trip they made to the Royal Hospital and Collins Barracks Museum.

Rang 6: A large crowd came to the graduation night for Rang 6 on Wednesday 26th June 2013. Rang 6 showed off their newly learned skills on the bodhrán and were accompanied by their music teacher Rob O Connor on the flute. It was great to observe the progress they had made in a short period of time. Le Chéile provided refreshments. Thanks to Deirdre Maher and Deborah Strumble for the great work they did on the DVD and the yearbook. Múinteoir Róisín and Príomhoide Siobhán wished the children all the best in secondary school.
On Thursday 27th June the barbeque for Rang 6 was a great success. Thanks to Alan Holbrook who did the cooking. The food was very tasty.

School Self-Evaluation: I wish to thank Múinteor Róisín who organised the Maths Survey and analysed the results. Parents returned 189 questionnaires and the pupils completed 238 questionnaires. We are grateful to all the parents, pupils and teachers who were involved. Analysis of results sent home.

School re-opens on the 29th August 2013.
