Is Gaelscoil í Scoil Chrónáin agus is í an Ghaeilge teanga labhartha agus chumarsáide na scoile. Is trí mheán na Gaeilge a múintear ábhair an Churaclaim. Beatha teanga í a labhairt!

Lón Sláintiúil:

Mar is eol daoibh tá imní ar an-chuid daoine faoí shábháilteacht agus faoí luach cothaithe an bhia atá á ithe ag an aos óg. Mar chuid d’Oideachas Sóisialta Pearsanta agus Sláinte ba mhaith linn béim a chur ar thábhacht dea-chothaithe maidir le fás, forbairt, agus sláinte. Táimíd ag iarraidh ar thuismitheoirí tacaíocht a thabhairt agus lón sláintiúil a thabhairt dá bpáistí.

Ní ceart go mbeadh deoch coipeach, criospaí, seacláid, brioscaí ná milseáin, acu ar scoil.

Coinne le Múinteoir:

Aithnímid an tábhacht a bhaineann le co-oibriú idir an baile agus an scoil chun an tairbhe is mó a bhaint as am scoile. Más mian le tuismitheoirí aon rud a phlé leis an múinteoir ranga faoina bpáiste is féidir coinne a oirfeadh dóibh araon a dhéanamh, trí (a) nóta a chur sa dialann obair bhaile nó (b) trí ghlaoch a chur ar an oifig (01) 4588889. Ba mhaith linn a mheabhrú daoibh go gcailltear am luachmhar foghlamtha don pháiste má chuirtear isteach ar an rang i rith an lae scoile.

Proiséas chun gearán a dhéanamh:

Má bhraitheann tuismitheoirí go bhfuil aon chúis gearáin acu ní mór coinne a dhéanamh agus é a phlé leis an múinteoir ar dtús, ansin an príomhoide (más gá) agus ina dhiaidh sin le Cathaoirleach an Bhoird Bhainistíochta (más gá), faoi mar atá leagtha síos i bpolasaí na scoile.

Teacht ar scoil déanach:

Ba chóir féachaint chuige go mbíonn do pháiste ar scoil in am. Má bhíonn do pháiste déanach maidin éigin, áfach, tabhair go dtí an oifig é / í agus féachfaidh an rúnaí ina d(h)iaidh. Níl sé ceadaithe d’aon tuismitheoir / chaomhnóir / chuairteoir dul díreach go dtí na seomraí ranga. Má tá an páiste sách déanach go mbeadh an rolla glaoite, ansin ní mór don tuismitheoir an leabhar mór dearg ‘An Leabhar Déanach’ a shíniú, ó thaobh sláinte agus sábháilteachta de. sláinte agus sábháilteachta de.

Éide Scoile:

Ba mhaith linn go gcinnteodh gach tuismitheoir go bhfuil an t-éide scoile iomlán ar gach páiste gach lá. Ba cheart do na páistí bróga reatha agus culaith reatha na scoile a chaitheamh an lá a mbíonn snámh nó Corpoideachas acu – Dé Máirt agus Déardaoin.

Fón Póca:

Glacann an Bord Bainistíochta go mbíonn fóin ag páistí áirithe de bharr cúrsaí taistil nó cúrsaí sláinte. Caithfidh na páistí na fóin a mhúchadh agus iad a choinneál ina málaí. Ní cheadófar na fóin seo a úsáid laistigh den scoil nó thart timpeall na scoile. Má bhíonn sé riachtanach dul i dteagmháil leis na tuistí déanfaidh foireann na scoile an glaoch. Má bheirtear ar pháiste ag úsáid fóin póca, tógfar an fón chun na hoifige agus baileoidh tuismitheoir ón bpríomhoide é. tógfar an fón chun na hoifige agus baileoidh tuismitheoir ón bpríomhoide é.tógfar an fón chun na hoifige agus baileoidh tuismitheoir ón bpríomhoide é.

Tinneas / Timpistí:

Má éiríonn páiste breoite ar scoil nó má bhíonn timpiste acu, cuirfear fios ar na tuismitheoirí mar atá leagtha síos i bpolasaí na scoile. Tá sé fíor thábhachtach, mar sin go mbeadh uimhreacha teileafóin cuí tugtha don scoil, uimhir bhaile, uimhreacha oibre, uimhreacha fóin póca. Má thagann aon athrú ar uimhreacha teileafóin i rith na bliana ní mór sin a chur in iúl láithreach i scríbhinn chuig an oifig.

N.B. Má bhriseann páiste géag nó má bhíonn orthu maidí croise a úsáid, ní mór duit bualadh leis an bpríomhoide sula bhfillfidh do pháiste ar scoil, ó thaobh sláinte agus sábháilteachta de. ar scoil, ó thaobh sláinte agus sábháilteachta de.

Ní gá go nglacfadh daoine leis an bhfreagracht, ach má ghlacann, caithfidh tú slánaíocht a thabhairt dóibh agus don Bhord Bhainistíochta.

Tinreamh agus Poncúlacht:

Ba chóir do gach páiste freastal ar scoil gach lá. Is ceart coinne fiaclóra a dhéanamh taobh amuigh d’am scoile chomh fada agus is féidir. Is ceart nóta a scríobh chuig an múinteoir ranga, má bhíonn do pháiste ag fágáil scoile go luath.

Appointments to meet a teacher:

We believe that co-operation between home and school is essential if your child is to get maximum benefit from his/her time in school. If you have a matter you wish to discuss with the teacher you should make an appointment to see him/her, a) by writing a note in the Homework journal orb) by phoning the office (01) 4588889. This will ensure less disruption to the class as valuable teaching time is lost through classroom interruptions.

Complaints Procedure:

Any complaint about a teacher must first be addressed to the teacher in question. Please make an appointment to met him/her. If the problem is unresolved you may then make an appointment to meet the principal. After that the Chairperson of the Board of Management may be contacted, if necessary.

Arriving late / Visitors to School:

Should you arrive in school after the teacher has escorted her class into the school, you must report to the School Secretary’s office and she will look after him/her. School Uniform:

It is school policy that children wear a school uniform – kilt and navy jumper for the girls (navy trousers optional for the girls also), navy jumper and trousers for the boys, white polo shirts for both. We would appreciate parents’ co-operation to ensure children come to school in full uniform every day. Children should wear suitable runners and clothing when going swimming or when going to P.E. classes (Tuesdays and Thursdays).

Mobile Phones:

The Board of Management recognises that because of travel arrangements or in exceptional circumstances, a very small number of children have been given mobile phones for contact/safety reasons. Children must keep their phone in their schoolbag and they must be switched off. The use of such phones within the school grounds is forbidden. During the school day, a member of staff will contact parents/guardians, if it becomes necessary to do so. Where a pupil is found to be using a mobile phone, the phone will be confiscated and held until his/her parent collects it from the principal’s office.

Camera phones are seen as an invasion of privacy and may not be used in school or during any school activities. during any school activities.

Illness/Accidents:

If your child becomes ill at school or has an accident, it is school policy to contact parent(s). It is essential therefore that we have home and work number as well as mobile phone number if applicable. We will also need the name and number of a responsible adult nominated by you to act on your behalf in the event of an emergency. It is your responsibility to inform the office in writing should you change your phone number during the year.

N.B. Should your child break a limb or should he /she need to attend school on crutches, you must contact the Príomhoide, on health and safety grounds, prior to your child returning to school.

Administration of Medicines to Pupils:

The school must be informed immediately of any health problems, or medical conditions which affect your child. This should be done when registering the child or as soon as one becomes aware thereafter of the medical condition. Medicines are not normally administered by staff. Should a child suffer from a chronic health condition, however, that may put his life in danger, then a written application must be made by the parents to the Board of Management, requesting medicine to be administered by an adult, in case of an emergency during school hours. If the request is granted the BOM must appoint a member / members of staff, who is / are willing to administer the medicine in an emergency. The parents must indemnify those appointed and the Board of Management also.

Attendance and Punctuality:

Each pupil should attend school every day unless exceptional circumstances prevail. Where possible,  medical and dental appointments should be made outside of school hours. Children may not leave the school building between 9 00a.m. and 1.40p.m. / 2.40p.m. unless they have been signed out by a parent/ responsible adult. If parents need to take their child/children before the end of the school day, they should inform the class teacher beforehand. Homework:

Pupils receive homework during the week. Homework should be completed in an atmosphere free from distraction. It is essential that parents listen to their child’s reading, spellings and tables every night. The time a parent puts into the development of their child’s reading skills is essential, especially in the Junior classes, and will reap rewards.

Pupils are encouraged to work as independently as possible on their homework in middle and senior classes. It is important that parents check the homework, however, and sign the child’s Journal when the homework is completed to their satisfaction.  If a child doesn’t complete his/her homework for some reason a note of explanation should be sent to the class teacher.
