Standardised Tests

Trialacha Caighdeánaithe (Standardised Tests)

Baintear úsáid as trialacha caighdeánaithe chun féachaint conas mar atá ag éirí le páiste sa léitheoireacht Bhéarla / Ghaeilge agus sa Mhatamaitic i gcomparáid le páistí eile sa tír atá sa leibhéal ranga céanna.

Standardised tests are used to compare a child’s achievement in English / Irish Reading and Maths with those of the other children in the country, who are in the same class level.

Tugann trialacha léirgeas duit conas mar a éiríonn le páiste ar lá áirithe. Uaireannta bíonn cúis éigin ann nach dtugann siad pictiúr cruinn de pháiste mar shampla má bhíonn sé/sí tinn, tuirseach, imníoch nó sceitimíneach. Bíonn tuairim an mhúinteora an-tábhachtach freisin. Tá eolas breise ar na trialacha caighdeánaithe le fáil ar www.ncca.ie.

As with other tests your child does in school, his/her result on a standardised test can be affected by how he/she feels on the day e.g if sick, tired, worried or excited. Therefore each test result is an indication of your child’s achievement. The teacher’s opinion is also very important. Further information on standardised tests is available on www.ncca.ie.
